Announcing our 2018 candidates!

Filing for 2018 candidates has officially closed, so we’re proud to unveil this year’s Democratic candidates for office: a diverse group that includes political newcomers with bold, fresh ideas, and seasoned political veterans with proven leadership.

Thanks to the tireless work of our Pipeline Committee, we’ll be fielding candidates for all but two of the seats on the Craven County Board of Commissioners, multiple candidates for Craven County Sheriff and all three of Craven County’s seats in the state legislature (two in the NC House and one in the NC Senate), and incumbent Democrats running for reelection as Craven County Clerk of Superior Court and District Attorney.

“I’m incredibly excited about our slate of candidates,” remarked CCDP acting chair Richard Friend. “With this diverse and energetic group of leaders, and the whole of the Craven County Democratic Party behind our eventual nominees, we’re ready for a blue wave to sweep Craven County this November. I can’t wait for the voters to get to know these candidates.”

As a reminder, the Craven County Democratic Party does not endorse candidates in contested Democratic primaries.

Please check this site often for more information, including bios, about our 2018 candidates.

One-stop early voting for the 2018 North Carolina primary begins on Thursday, April 19, 2018, with Election Day on Tuesday, May 8.
