Election Day 2020

Voting on Election Day – No Voter ID Required

Some people just love the Election Day experience. We get that. There’s nothing quite like going into that booth on a Tuesday and being given that fancy “I Voted” sticker when you leave.

Voting isn’t just a right, it’s a responsibility of citizenship. Every time we have an election, it’s our opportunity to influence the direction of our local, state, and federal government. The right to vote must be protected, but it must also be exercised.

  1. Make sure you’re registered to vote.
  2. Learn about the candidates.
  3. VOTE!

Election Day for the 2020 General election in North Carolina is Tuesday, November 3.  Polls are open from 6:30AM to 7:30PM.

Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the November 3, 2020 general election. In a December 31 order, a federal district court blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court.”

Craven County Board of Elections is taking measures to keep you safe during in-person voting.

  • Requiring poll workers to wear a mask at all times while working the polls
  • Providing hand sanitizer, face and desk shields, and gloves at polling locations
  • Providing Q-tips for sanitizing poll machines
  • Providing masks for voters by request

To find your polling place, use the voter registration lookup form on the NCSBE website.

VOTING TWICE IN AN ELECTION IS A FELONY.  Be prepared and make your voting plan now.  Vote smart, vote once per election.
