Thank you to all of you who spoke at or attended the Craven County Commissioners meeting on August 2, 2021 to demonstrate to them that there is a large number of residents of Craven County who wanted them not to take any actions on the resolution in opposition to Critical Race Theory, “Action Civics” and the 1619 Project being used in our school curriculum.

Thank you to all of you who wrote emails or called the Commissioners to inform them about your opposition to the resolution which opposes the Critical Race Theory, “Action Civics” and the 1619 Project being used in our schools.

Although we were not successful in getting them to take no action on the resolution, we made an impact with the number of people, over 1,000, that voiced their opinions against it. It is important to speak out to our elected officials to make sure they know how we, their constituents, feel about their actions or lack of actions.

Additionally, thank you to Commissioners Bea Smith and Theron McCabe for voting against the resolution. Your dedication and work on behalf of the people of Craven County are truly appreciated.
