Last week, on a party-line vote, the U.S. House passed the Trump/GOP tax bill — a massive giveaway to billionaires and Wall Street, “paid for” by tax hikes on working families. Now the Senate is taking up their version of the bill.

If the current GOP tax bill passes, it’ll give away billions of dollars in tax cuts to Wall Street and real-estate billionaires like Trump. And working families will be left holding the bag:

• 50% of working American households will see their taxes go up before 2027.
• 13 million people will lose health insurance.
• Premiums for some families will go up by an average of $2,000 in 2019.
• Automatic cuts to Medicare will be triggered starting next year.
• Teachers won’t be able to deduct the cost of school supplies they’re buying for their classrooms, but private-jet owners will get a new loophole.

The Trump/GOP tax bill is a boon for billionaires, on the backs of working Americans.

We The People successfully fought off the GOP’s efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. We can fight this too. Here’s how:

1. Tell your friends and neighbors about this dangerous bill. With the holidays upon us, it’s easy to get busy or distracted. We need to spread the word about this dangerous GOP tax scam. Our main talking point: It’s a huge giveaway for billionaires and Wall Street, on the backs of working American families.

   Note that it’s a “giveaway,” not a “tax cut,” for billionaires — since it will raise taxes for many, cut needed government services, and generally make life more expensive for working families, it’s really taking money out of our pockets and giving it to billionaires and Wall Street.

2. Call Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr and tell them NO to the Trump tax scam! We’re not under any illusions that they’ll actually change their support — it’s their holiday gift to their billionaire buddies — but they need to know that we, their constituents, stand against it.
